Senior Operator

3–4 days/week, embedded cross-functionally to drive initiatives, products, and programs forward

Some projects need a senior operator, program manager, or product marketer who can step in quickly, align stakeholders, clarify direction, and move important work forward.

I work with founders, program leaders, innovation teams, and cultural organizations that need strong judgment and polished outputs without adding full-time headcount. This model works best when the cross-functional path forward needs to be clarified in real time.

Best for

  • Leaders shaping new initiatives, partnerships, or programs
  • Teams navigating multiple stakeholders and moving priorities
  • Organizations that need strategic clarity alongside execution support
  • Projects that require trust, judgment, and momentum across functions

What I help with

  • Initiative and program strategy
  • Partnership and stakeholder alignment
  • Executive materials and briefings
  • Messaging and communications support
  • Systems, reporting, and workflow visibility
  • Thought partnership on structure, priorities, and next steps

What this unlocks

  • Faster alignment across teams and partners
  • Stronger materials for leadership, funders, and stakeholders
  • Better visibility into priorities, progress, and decision-making
  • More momentum on complex initiatives that might otherwise stall

At Michigan Central—Detroit’s historic train station reimagined as a 30-acre innovation and cultural hub—I offer strategic advising at the intersection of arts, community, and ecosystem development. The work spans partnerships, internal coordination, systems building, budget alignment, and communications support across several initiatives with Michigan Central, Newlab, Knight Foundation, Doris Duke Foundation, Henry Ford Health, and Mozilla Foundation that serve approximately 160,000 annual visitors.

My role has included coordinating across seven internal teams and five external partners to move complex initiatives from planning through execution. I’ve also built dashboards, reporting workflows, and internal systems that improve visibility and decision-making; co-managed $2M+ in program budgets; and prepared executive briefings, impact reports, and stakeholder-facing updates for leadership, funders, and external partners.

I then represent the organization in community and institutional contexts, helping build trusted relationships that support collaboration, access, and mission-aligned growth.

A typical engagement usually looks like:

  • Monthly retainer with weekly or biweekly working sessions
  • Light async support in between.
  • I plug in where senior guidance is most useful: helping teams sharpen direction, make decisions faster, and strengthen the materials around important work.

An ideal client usually looks like:

  • A leader shaping a new initiative, partnership, program, or product launch
  • A team navigating multiple stakeholders, moving priorities, or internal complexity
  • An organization that needs senior judgment without adding full-time headcount
  • A project that needs structure, momentum, and cross-functional clarity to move forward
